Discover an innovative, eco-friendly insulating material made in Québec from pure milkweed floss fibres, a natural, local material known for its exceptional thermal performance, its water-repellent properties and its breathable, antimicrobial qualities. Unique in the world, milkweed batting is up to 3 times more effective than standard polyester insulation, while remaining vegan, washable, industrially compostable and durable.

Unlike many synthetic materials, milkweed is a renewable resource. It is grown responsibly and organically, and helps threatened monarch butterfly populations survive by creating new habitat and breeding grounds: monarch caterpillars feed exclusively on milkweed leaves during the summer, before their migration.
This natural material is also machine washable and dryable on the delicate cycle, for easy care without compromising durability. Unlike goose or duck down, milkweed repels water and keeps its insulating power even when a garment is damp or compressed. Warmer than wool, more effective than down and naturally hydrophobic, milkweed is the ideal plant-based alternative to synthetic and animal-derived insulation, offering high performance and environmental responsibility at once, a rare combination.

Shipping, exchanges and returns
Free exchanges in Canada
Wrong size, wrong colour? We exchange it for free, anywhere in Canada: prepaid return label, no handling fee. You have 15 days after delivery to write to us, and the item must be in new condition, unworn, unwashed, with no odour or marks.
- Write to hey@lasclay.com or on Messenger with your order number and the item you would like in exchange.
- You receive a prepaid return label within 1 to 2 business days. You then have 10 days to mail the parcel.
- Drop it in a mailbox or at a Canada Post counter. The replacement ships as soon as we receive and inspect yours.
Not sure about your size before ordering? Check the size guide, or send us a photo of your hand next to a ruler and we will confirm the size.
Returns and refunds
Would you rather have a refund? Same 15-day window, same new condition, same prepaid label. A $9.99 handling fee is deducted from the refund; it covers part of the postage. The refund goes back to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days after inspection.
2026 holiday extension
Orders placed during the fall pre-sale can be exchanged for free or returned until January 31, 2027, even after the 15-day window. The other conditions stay the same: item in new condition, prepaid label, handling fee on refunds.
What is not eligible
- Final sale items and items from the Imperfects section: no returns or exchanges.
- Purchases made anywhere other than lasclay.com: please contact the retailer.
- Seeds and seed bombs: no returns or exchanges. Seed bombs that didn't sprout? Write to us: we will advise you and reship them.
- Outside Canada: write to us and we will find a solution, but return shipping costs are not covered.
A defect?
A seam coming apart, a missing part, the wrong item received: write to us with one or two photos and your order number, even after the return window. In most cases we sort it out without asking you to send the product back.

Canada. Free Xpresspost shipping on orders of $99 and up. Under that amount, $6.99 for standard shipping or $9.99 for Xpresspost. Very light items, such as seeds, ship by stamp for $2.99, without tracking. Delivery times after shipping: 2 to 5 business days in Québec, 4 to 8 in Ontario and the Maritimes, 6 to 8 in Manitoba, 7 to 10 in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
United States. $6.99 USD on orders under $59.99 USD, free on orders of $59.99 USD and up.
Elsewhere. For now, the online store ships to Canada and the United States only. For another destination, write to us at hey@lasclay.com and we will see what is possible.
Pre-order products ship after the date shown on their product page. You receive an email with the tracking number when your order ships.
The milkweed comes from here
It is grown in Québec, harvested in the fall, then turned into insulation here. That is the part we do not outsource: it is where our know-how sits, and it is what gives the plant value out in the fields. Final assembly of most of our products happens with partners abroad. We would rather write that plainly than let you assume otherwise.
Responsible and cruelty-free
Synthetic insulation is made from oil, and down raises ethical questions. Milkweed is a plant fibre, grown here, that insulates thanks to the air trapped inside each of its hollow fibres.
Respectful of Monarchs
Each purchase supports milkweed farming, and milkweed is the monarch's only host plant. The more milkweed in the fields, the more places monarchs have to breed before their great migration, after which we harvest the floss.
