Mittens

Upon reception
  • It is possible that the mittens still have a certain odor when you receive them. This smell is not permanent and will fade after a few days. You can hang them outside in the wind to speed things up.
  • It is possible that the mittens have a certain stiffness at first and might seem too tight. This is normal, up to a point of course! Over time and with a few wears, they should naturally soften up.
Suggested use

We designed our mittens for urban and light outdoor sports/activities. It is possible to use them for more intensive activities, such as cross-country skiing, daily shoveling, or wood splitting. However, we prefer to specify that these intensive activities could reduce the lifespan of the mittens since they were not designed for these uses in an exclusive and prolonged way.

Cleaning
  • Before washing your mittens, start by turning them inside out  while they are still dry.
  • We recommend hand washing in cold water with a mild soap.
  • The washing machine on a light cycle may be suitable, but hand washing is recommended.
  • Do not wring or rub excessively.
  • To evacuate excess moisture after washing, place mittens flat, sandwiched inside a towel and press down gently.

Drying
  • We recommend air drying, preferably flat.
  • Never tumble dry when wet.
  • To restore some loft in the insulation layer, you can put the mittens in the tumble dryer only when they are dry and only for 5 minutes.
Washing frequency

Milkweed is a naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic fiber. Therefore, it should not be necessary to wash them too often, but it depends on your specific use and physiological traits.

It is therefore not necessary to wash the scarf very often. Once a season should be enough.
