About us

Our milkweed insulation: vegan, responsible and local.

Insulation harvested, designed and made in Québec, Canada.

Lasclay is a brand from Québec City. We turn milkweed floss, the hollow fibre attached to the seeds of the monarch's host plant, into insulation for mittens, neck warmers, coats, cooler bags and more. The plant is grown in Québec, the floss is processed in the Eastern Townships, and design and quality control happen at our workshop in Limoilou, in Québec City.

Final assembly of most finished products is entrusted to manufacturing partners, mainly in Tunisia. It is a trade-off we own and explain on our Transparency page. To understand why this plant matters so much to us: our mission and our page on milkweed.
