Insulation grown and processed in Québec

Pre-order, shipping fall 2026

Warm and light, these milkweed-lined wool mittens offer high-performance insulation that is ideal for the city. Soft, comfortable and breathable, they keep your hands warm while letting air circulate.

Wool shell and lining, milkweed insulation. Two natural materials for an urban winter with no compromise between style and comfort. Offered in khaki grey, a soft shade that goes with everything.

*Despite a standardized dyeing process, the khaki green shade may vary slightly from one batch to the next.

Dimensions

Our mittens are unisex. To confirm which size fits you best, be sure to check our sizing chart.

Material & Care

Composition

  • Outer: 100% sheep's wool
  • Lining: 100% sheep's wool
  • Insulation: 50% PLA (polylactic acid polymerized from corn starch, industrially compostable), 30% kapok (from Indonesia), 20% Québec milkweed

Care

Wool is a natural material that needs gentle care to keep its softness and shape. Hand wash in cold water with a mild wool soap, or machine wash on a delicate cycle with no spin. Avoid the dryer.

Lay flat to air dry, away from any direct heat source, to prevent shrinking and keep their original shape.

Shipping, exchanges and returns

Free exchanges in Canada

Wrong size, wrong colour? We exchange it for free, anywhere in Canada: prepaid return label, no handling fee. You have 15 days after delivery to write to us, and the item must be in new condition, unworn, unwashed, with no odour or marks.

  2. You receive a prepaid return label within 1 to 2 business days. You then have 10 days to mail the parcel.
  3. Drop it in a mailbox or at a Canada Post counter. The replacement ships as soon as we receive and inspect yours.

Not sure about your size before ordering? Check the size guide, or send us a photo of your hand next to a ruler and we will confirm the size.

Returns and refunds

Would you rather have a refund? Same 15-day window, same new condition, same prepaid label. A $9.99 handling fee is deducted from the refund; it covers part of the postage. The refund goes back to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days after inspection.

The milkweed comes from here

It is grown in Quebec, harvested in the fall, then turned into insulation at our workshop in Limoilou. That is the part we do not outsource: it is where our know-how sits, and it is what gives the plant value out in the fields. Final assembly of most of our products happens with partners abroad. We would rather write that plainly than let you assume otherwise.

Responsible and cruelty-free

The oil used to manufacture synthetic insulation is getting scarcer and more expensive, while down is questionable from an ethical standpoint. Milkweed can be farmed industrially in a win-win formula for nature and humans and performs better than its counterparts.

Respectful of Monarchs

By purchasing a Lasclay product, you are directly helping the monarchs, an endangered species. An abundance of milkweed in rural areas provides them with invaluable breeding grounds before their great migration, after which we harvest the floss.
